You love bands, artists and music, and you want to know how additional money can be used to help the music move forward, thus helping it reach more people. You may or may not also know about music grants, artist grants, art money, and other forms of "music money".
Unlike other financial sectors (like the film financing world, for example), the music-money world is mistakenly thought by most people to be low-cost. Indie filmmakers have various forms of film funding, such as film grants and film investors, but this is because people know that it take lots of money to make a film. Most people (including film finance people) think that because music is cheap to make, it's is a low-cost business. It is not.
Most of the money in the music business goes into the marketing of the music, not into the making of the music itself. The music business (and music itself) reaches just about everybody, but it is money that makes this happen. And it's the money that bands usually have a hard time finding, simply because artists, bands, singers and songwriters have spent more time making the actual music than they have been studying the financial side of the music business.
But this site (TalentFunding.com) is designed to connect the music with the money. And we are not talking about loans, grants, or investments in the traditional sense. We are talking about sponsorships. Kind of like Nascar, only more musical. Or, think of it the way that an executive producer of a film thinks of it. He's attached to the project (he's paying for it), but he's not really making it.
Musical talent have one thing in common with talent from many other fields: Investors don't trust them, banks don't trust them, and even friends and family don't think they'll get their money back. But that's why TalentFunding.com does not deal with "loan money" that is meant to be repaid; instead it deals with sponsorship money that is meant not to be repaid.
